Once it was my home by bruni

Once it was my home

I finally took some pictures of the marina my X and I owned around 1970 situated at Soldier's Bay in Holland Landing, On. my son just started Kindergarden and Grace was about 9 years old at the time. their dad built us a two storey house (2 apartments upstairs and a show room, small cafeteria and office downstairs).it was built on piles at the water's edge. that's were Bruce fell in and if it hadn't been for Grace to alert us noone knows what could've happened. he had to learn to swim in a big hurry and so he did. later instead of walking to the next street he swam across to play with his buddy.
the marina has changed hands over the years once we sold it. today there are no longer living quarters and the facilities for larger boats are gone as well. instead they have a huge showroom where they display and sell boats and I believe snowmobiles in the winter.
Living in a marina sounds sooooo interestiong! Although it can be dangerous for small children. Nice collage.

@karenann No Karanann the centre one was also taken the same day as the others..in those days we didn't have digital camera. I might have some pictures...would have to go through all my old photographs to see if I took a shot of the building or one of what the marina looked like then. should I find something I'll scan it and make a before picture.. thank you for inquiring and for your comment. have a nice Sunday and of course a great evening still.
