Yes, that is exactly what this devil of a squirrel did. he climbed a tree, jumped onto the thin wire holding the bird feeder and got under the two protecting metal hoods so to speak, which are there to prevent him from getting at the seeds, tilted the feeder and had a feast.
@pyrrhula Yes, Ferry, they are as bad as the squirrels. they just killed a nest with young sparrow babies. it's the birdhouse on our deck, we found all the nesting material hanging out of it and no signs of the baby birds.
