Global thistle by bruni

Global thistle

I saw this plant on the roadside while walking and thought the flower looks interesting. the wasp didn't mind me taking lots of pictures. it kept on flying off and returning to harvest the flower's nec tar.
Later I wondered if I brought it home. we were in and out from the deck and a wasp must've come in with us. I was barefoot and at one time got up from sitting in front of my computer desk and felt a hot burning underneath my foot. I must've stepped on it. when I looked up, I saw it hovering around the sliding door. we opened it and let it out.
Great shot, love the blue tone

@cejaanderson @shirleybankfarm @prttblues Thank you for your comment/fav. I steps on the darn thing and it was painful. a footbath and some antihistamine took care of it. when I woke up this morning
I was fine. so glad it didn't spoil our long weekend. tomorrow is a statutory holiday - Civic Day and we're planning to go to Kempenfest, as we do every year. it's a three day affair.

@darsphotos One of the days you mentioned we spent again in the ER. had another episode of Afib. once they cardioverted me back to sinus rhythm I was fine. with all the tests and x-rays and the darn waiting period I was in there for 12 hours. more hours than usual and that was because they found an elevated enzyme in my blood. the suggested another blood test, but I had to wait a few hours before having it. we decided to wait and have the test. so Hans went to.Horton's - a coffee shop in the hospital - and bought us some breakfast and later lunch. Grace came by to relieve Hans and he went to her house to watch some TV. only one visitor was allowed. when the test came back, it showed a slightly higher reading as before, but the cardiologist wasn't that much concerned about it and told me, she would fax the results to my cardiologist and that I should try to see him as soon as possible, after a phone call to his office, I found out he's on vacation and so my September 3rd appointment still stands.

@bruni I am sorry I am behind, Bruni. My day yesterday was consumed with a Dr appointment and time with my son who takes me to almost all of my appointments and then home again. So, are you ok and did this just happen My memory this week has been not with me. My best friend was taken to the hospital last Sunday with Vertigo and just got released yesterday. She lives in Texas and I could get no information from her family so just waited and sent her paper flowers from the gift shop at the hospital. We talk every day but have not since last Saturday. I woke this morning with my stomach in knots and called the hospital and found that she was discharged. Hoping that meant she is a lot better and at home.

Back to you. So are you ok and did this happen just recently? I have no desire to be back at our ER. I was there for 10 hours and then admitted to the hospital. Only a blood test and ultrasound in that time and I was given my ultrasound results by the tech that actually did my ultrasound, that I have a blood clot in my left calf. After the test they left me in the waiting area. What a disaster.

Wish we would have gotten food too. Glad Hans got some for the two of you. We had no idea what our wait would be like. Reading and typing, so you knew you had a wait. Nice to at least know that. Seems like a long time to wait to see your cardiologist. So many specialists are so busy and unless they need to get you in quickly, they do not. You know that if you need to, you have to go to the ER. I know the same thing. Our Drs can only do so much. I hope you are feeling well and remain well. My Dr is amazing, he is Vascular. I treated with him in 2003 for the blood clot I had in basically the same place in my calf. He said this clot will take about 4 months to start shrinking. I will have another ultrasound in December and see him right after I have it done, the same day in the same building. He is so understanding. I go in with a list of questions so not to miss anything. T

Take good care of yourself, Bruni. Hugs!

@pyrrhula Once you know the name of a flower, yes it's easy to read up on it on Wikipedia. thanks for the link, Ferry. interesting how many medicinal properties this plant has and all the names for it in different places of the world.

Good shot! Here's a little "home remedy" info for you- Worcestershire sauce is a great treatment for a bee sting. Just pour a bit on the spot where you've been stung and you'll be amazed at how quickly it takes the sting and pain away. I've used it both on wasp and bee stings- works like a charm!

Nice shot.
