I thought you might like to see our Christmas tree I just finished decorating. all that's missing is the tinsel I'll put on tomorrow. in the evening we'll light the candles as we're not home on Christmas Eve. behind the tree, in front of our second bay window stands a fold up table with some backing to cool down. Hans made what we call Berliner Brot. those are cookies made with cacao and nuts. they get real crunchy and the more they dry out, the tastier they are.
@maggiemae Maggie. never in all the years, back at home in Germany or the 60 years in this country, have we ever had a fire. fire extinquisher is kept right close to the tree and one of us is always present when the candles are lit.
I wouldn't have any idea how to use candles and I would would be scared to death of a fire. I bet it is really, really beautiful. Maybe you can get a picture of it when you light them.
