Sunrise taken from high in the sky. by bruni

Sunrise taken from high in the sky.

No I'm not on my way yet. Hans, who flew to Florida ahead of me, took this picture.
It's been two days since you haven't heared from me.
Let me tell you, it was a gruesome day for me. oh no, the procedure went great and all is fine with me. let me get back to the day of the procedure. you're aware of that there is no food or drink after midnight before the procedure. well I was booked for a noon arrival. all went swift until I got into the prep room. from there on it was a nightmare. they go through all the paperwork once again of course, which took forever. all this time I'm on this small stretcher covered with a blanket and one underneath my head. no pillow available at the moment. the prep work went fast except for finding a vain in my arm. they poked and they poked and gave up after three times/ had to call a special nurse to do it. in the meantime, I heard the nurses talking what a bad start of a day they had. I was patient number three and the first one had just been taken to the procedure room. number two was also patiently waiting for her turn.
problems arose with the first patient and therefore we were delayed. once the second one, after hours of waiting, finally was transferred to the procedure room, the scheduling nurse came into the room to talk to a nurse. when she saw me, she said: Don't Tell Me I Scheduled You For Today! well at that time I had it. all I said was -You better not send me home again - it turned out to be a bad day for me too. the second patient was also delayed and I thought, oh no what is going to happen. I was relived when my cardiologist stopped by and assured me the procedure room is being made ready for me and it will only takes a few minutes. from there on everything went well and soon after, I was brought into the overnight recovery room. a nurse applied pressure for about a half hour to the incision in my groin as they went through an artery. when the pressure was released, it started bleeding and more pressure was applied. finally it stopped and I had to keep my leg straight and rest for four hours after which I was allowed some food and a drink. I was starving by then. at a quarter to one the next morning, my daughter was called to pick me up and take me home. she stayed with me for the required 24 hours. as to when I can fly out and meet up with Hans, I was told not to leave the country for at least 1 week. I told Hans to be patient, I'll get there at that time.
---the main thing is, my pacemaker is now working and controlling my heartbeat, so no more atrial fibrillation and no more cardio versions at the ER.---
Life is good and back no normal.
Just beautiful.

My goodness, that sounds like quite the day. You took it well. Not sure I would have handled it so politely LOL. I am glad to hear it went well and it appears that you are well on the way to a nice recovery.

It is so nice to see that you are home. What a nightmare and glad it is over. Nothing ever seems to go smoothly. Would have been nice for them to tell you that you could not leave the country for a week though. Poor Hans and you. I forget that you are in Canada and not in the US so out of the country. Glad all is going good for you. Will be nice to not be in the ER again or deal with more than you are at the moment. Take good care. I will check back in soon. My son is working on the photo program on my computer so not able to do anything. Hoping he has it up and running tomorrow as I hope to make it to the park this weekend. In the 70's, we are warming up. Beautiful photo by the way, Bruni. FAV

Ah, now I realise what you were having - pacemaker! Very well done - it will be the best for you except you have to be careful going through the scanner at airports!! It sounds as if you could have been nervous and had no one to reassure you! However, all over and hope the incision heals well!

@maggiemae The pacemaker was placed January 18th and then on January 25 the appointment to have the pacemaker checked. next day came the ablation, which didn't take and therefore on Feb. 2 I had to have another one. I knew exactly what to expect this time. I was just upsets that the waiting between being prepped and the actual procedure took to many ours and I was tired and hungry.

Hope you are feeling better each day. I hate waiting too. Had a filter out in 2003, the day before my hysterectomy. Nothing to eat after midnight. Arrived in the late morning and done at 10pm at night. Released to go home, eat a little oatmeal and come back at 5:30am for surgery. The waits can be so long. ER three times last year averaged 8 hours. What we do to stay healthy and alive. I hope this works great for you and you have a great time with Hans soon.
