Ornamental peppers are edible

We raised them from seeds to be transplanted last Spring to one of our flower boxes. I took this picture to show you that the red and yellow peppers were growing on the same stem.

Apparently they're very very spicy. we haven't tried cooking with them yet.
Nicely captured

Will the yellow ones turn red as they age? I love peppers in everything too.

Interesting- will they change color as the plant ages? We like some peppers but the really spicy ones don't agree with us unless they're really well blended into whatever we're cooking.

Our region's entire cuisine centers around Big Jim green chilis, which are hot and sweet. I wonder if these are too spicy.

@olivetreeann Ann we'll pick the peppers and take out the seeds for next years. raising them in the house to put the seedlings again in our garden. the plant is only about 8 - 10 inches tall with very small peppers.

@henrir The answer is no. we also had one with purple peppers. they're so nice to look at. no wonder they're call ornamental peppers. not like peppers you buy in a grocery store. we only take the seeds out for raising new ones for the next season. we haven't tried cooking with them yet..they're suppose to be very spicy.
