Very nice! Our mall is dying. We walk it frequently for exercise in the cold weather. This year they haven't even decorated it for Christmas, although they did for Halloween.Santa Clause is there though, usually just waiting by himself for someone to come by. I enjoy this photo of Christmas decor and shoppers all around.
@janeandcharlie These aren't easy times. you see less and less people buying and a lot of stuff is drastically reduced in price to get shoppers into the store. with the way prices are going up and up, one can hardly effort to buy produce anymore and it is said that by next year the prices will double. farmers are starting to use their fields for "something" more profitable,
@janeandcharlie I was just reading an article about a mall in the state of Ohio which has virtually reinvented itself- and what they did may become a trend. Some of the area was converted from retail to condos and apartments, more restaurants and a health club was added virtually turning it into a city unto itself. The idea took off so who knows, maybe your malls will follow suit.
@olivetreeann I hope so! It's sad for someone older, like me, to get used to all the changes--shopping, newspapers, magazines, land lines, scheduled television, high-tech crimes, slow mail, paper maps--all these things I took for granted would always be permanent.
@janeandcharlie I understand- most of those things seemed permanent to me too, but in some cases (like Skype with my grandchildren) I don't mind the changes too much.
