When a candle burns down to the very end, some of the wax collects in the cup of the candle holder. the holder gets very hot and it starts to act like a candle wick and flares up.
There isn't anything to worry about, as we watch it very carefully while I take a picture and Hans is standing by with a candle snuffer. ( a fire extinguisher stands right next to the tree for just in case))
