The vendors aren't allowed entering a resort from the beach, but they're allowed on the beach to approach you. I've had good luck buying some nice silver bracelets. I always make sure it's officially stamped with the value of the metal.
In this picture you see a vendor showing of sarongs and or beach towels. often they carry on quite a conversation with their target. all is friendly and they do take no for an answer.
