Yonge Street is 1896 km (1178 miles) from the Lake Shore in Toronto to Rainy River at the Ontario/Minnesota border.
It became Toronto's main street at the end of the 19th Century. Yonge Street intersects with five other major streets in the downtown area and serves to draw crowds of people downtown for business and entertainment.
Yonge Street is said to be the longest street in the world.
That sure is some major work going on. We have a similar situation in front of our estate. They are turning a two lane road into a four lane road which is taking ages!
