Mountain Bike Trail by bruni

Mountain Bike Trail

The Oak Ridges Moraine is an ecologically sensitive ridge of land that bisects York Region. (YR is where we live). It extends about 200 km from the Niagara Escarpment in the west to the Trent River in the east. Many of our York Regional Forest Tracts are located on the Oak Ridges Moraine.

The Oak Ridges Trail Association has established a 250 km trail system across the moraine including portions of the York Regional Forest. The trail system has been identified in the forest with white (or blue for inside trails) blazes painted on three trunks.

This system provides forest users with an opportunity for experience a marked trail, may it be for walking and/or mountain biking. some trails, as you can see in my collage, are offshoots of the main trail system made especially for bike enthusiasts.
One rough looking ride over that trail. Wonderful shots!

The one on the right looks a little bumpy for a mountain bike. Perhaps that's the way they like them.
