This Grade II listed monument is set high on a hill opposite the magnificent Hughenden Manor.
The monument was commissioned as a "surprise" gift for the Victorian Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli from his wife Mary Anne.
It was built in memory of Benjamin's father, Isaac Disraeli (1766-1848), who was a successful literary critic and historian.
As this is so visible from the manor, I am not sure how she kept it as a surprise?
