Crowland Abbey and Trinity Bridge by busylady

Crowland Abbey and Trinity Bridge

Another picture from the Heritage open weekend. These are taken in the village of Crowland near Peterborough. The Abbey is partly ruined and is know as Croyland Abbey. Sadly we couldn't go inside as it was being used for a wedding ceremony, but the views from outside were well worth the visit. The abbey was built in 1170 and is now used as a parish church. The inset is Trinity Bridge also in Crowland, dating from the 14th century. It used to span the joining of two rivers, but is now a very unusual 3-way bridge leading nowhere in particular in the centre of the village.
Wonderful really liked looking at this. That bridge is really cool too.

looks good Judith, I think you need to share the scene again when the scaffold has gone :)

@phil_howcroft Yes, it was a shame about the scaffolding, I was hoping the angle of the shot would disguise it somewhat, but it didn't. Because of the position of the sun it was the best I could do.
