Little harvest by busylady

Little harvest

Not much opportunity for a good shot today as it's rained most of the day. At least we're not flooded! However, I was about to cook some of my home-grown corn for dinner and thought it might make an interesting subject. The other fruit is an ornamental gourd. I've seen them hanging up in restaurants in Greece and Turkey but have never grown them before.
These are splendid Judith, that corn on the cob looks so fat & juicy!

The corn looks fabulous (it's something I've never grown). I like the contrast between the green of the gourd and the corn

The sweetcorn looks juicy...it's hard to know when is the right time to harvest them, I was told that the silk should be turning a brown colour.I'm growing pumpkins this year (for the grandkids) so far so good, they just need to plump up a bit, i'm not sure if I have the timing right, still they have a few weeks left yet.
