We went to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular yesterday. Thursford is a little known town in the depths of Norfolk where the world's largest collection of steam engines and organs are housed. There are also historic carousels to ride on and this is one of them. Just now it is hosting the Christmas Spectacular which happens every year twice a day for 6 weeks. I've never been before and was utterly amazed and entertained by the professionalism of the whole show. 130 professional dancers, singers musicians and performers are employed each year and it brings 10 million pounds to the Norfolk economy. OK so there were a lot of coach parties there and plenty of pensioners but it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and wasn't all about Christmas! I may be tempted to post more pictures later in the week.
Sounds interesting - I've never heard of it - we took the kids to an odd little theme park in N Norfolk once - it had old fashioned things like organ/musical fountains and a cakewalk but it closed down due to lack of visitors. I think really it suffered from lack of marketing because it was a lot of fun - you can't beat a comedy mirror!
