Speedwell blue by busylady

Speedwell blue

We spent a lovely day in Hinchingbrooke park today. Imogen played to her heart's content in the play area and we did a treasure hunt around the lake. The treasure was a creme egg and the 'hunt' made us all look carefully at things we would otherwise have missed. I seem to remember from far off days, the annual Sunday school anniversary and learning a poem about the speedwell blue. I've always loved this pretty flower and today the sun was shining all day so it looked really special. Thanks for all your comments on my quick snapshot yesterday.
A beautiful capture. Love the way the light is catching the flowers.

Pretty shot that reminds me of my childhood. The Welsh name for these is Llygad Doli (tr. Doll's Eye) and I used to have a doll - called Linda - with eyes just like the flowers.
