We took an afternoon off today and visited Woodwalton Fen. It was sooo quiet and peaceful. We even saw a deer although it wasn't long before he disappeared into the undergrowth. The fens are a very flat area of Cambridgeshire which have been drained over the years to provide arable land for farming. There are many drainage ditches and paths looked after by wildlife trusts and volunteers. It was the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon.
3 good things
1. An afternoon with the camera
2. Betty is clean and trimmed again
3. Lunch out so no dinner to cook
Lovely detail in both flower and insect. Would Cambridgeshire be considered part of the Midlands of England. We are studying the Midlands for the next 12 months for CWA as there will be an international woman's conference in England next year.
