Postal scale by busylady

Postal scale

I have returned to the U3A photography group and this week we were trying out using a light tent. I'm not happy with the focus but I quite lilke the light. I have also added a graduated tint. This scale belonged to Peter's family and was used for weighing letters, before posting. Sadly the scale engraved on the square brass piece is not clear in the photo, but the smallest letter if 'not exceeding 1 oz', would have cost 1d (that's one old penny for those of you not able to remember when there were 12 pennies in a shilling!) rising to 3d for an 8 oz letter.
Welcome back Judith. I didn't do so well with the light tent!
