St Petroc's Church, Lydford by busylady

St Petroc's Church, Lydford

We're having a short break in Devon, near Okehampton. A pretty village even in the pouring rain! We walked to this nearby 12th century church and also the Lydford Gorge. The gorge is not accessible at the moment.
So good to get away and have a change of scenery
A lovely stone clad church with the lichen growing on its walls ! - there is always something inviting to go an view an old Church when we go away on holidays , isn't there !

Beautiful architecture and splendid composition. I looked up the place and it so made me want to visit this place and its surroundings. Never been to the south before.

How well those Yew trees look all clipped like that...at least I’m guessing they are Yew. A well preserved pretty church.
