I ran out of currants for the Christmas cake today so I took Peter to this delightful little shop in a nearby village. It was his first visit. They sell everything from toilet rolls and teas to spices and a myriad of baking ingredients. They also sell tea, coffee and cake so we decided to stay for a cuppa and sampled their coconut cake. Everything is plastic free, so not even a paper receipt - they email it to you!
I love these little shops! And I also like the email receipts, some shops are already using them here. Better for the environment, and you don't lose it!
What a delight and somewhat nostalgic -- It reminds me of my mother's village shop - selling everything from paraffin and candles to sugar and spices ! - but most of all the row upon row of glass jars . In fact I have a few of the glass jars in my pantry holding fried fruit , different sugars etc -- Thank you for taking me down memory lane -- fav
