Our patchwork group issued a challenge of making something from recycled denim. I took up the challenge and used a very worn pair of Peter's work jeans. The body of the bag is made from the legs, as are the straps. The pocket was removed and placed on the front of the bag and the waistband was used to make the fastenening. I used some left over dress material to make the lining. I'm quite pleased with it!
Such a lovely little bag created from reusing old garment - Today - it is considered a craft , but back in the post war years - this kind of recycling was a thing of necessity ! My mum was constantly on the sewing machine recycling adult garments for my my outfits ! Fav !
