Abbey Church at Elstow

A quick trip to the cash & carry in Bedford for a bulk buy of Christmas puddings today, so we stopped at Elstow on the way back to see the church of St Mary and St Helena in winter time. The board told me that it was founded by Judith in c1078, niece of William the Conquerer, and that John Bunyan was baptised here in 1625
