We are in the region of Spain known as Catalunya, so the language spoken here is Catalan. We cycled in the opposite direction today along the Via Verda, and the scenery was very different. Sometimes with deep gorges and with many mountains. Of course, the mountains meant many tunnels. There were 13 today! I wasn't very brave on the way there but was better on the return trip when I managed to cycle 11 of them.
We were aiming for the old station of Pinell de Bray, where there was reputed to be a bar and restaurant. Sadly it was closed, only open at weekends and feast days. We ate our meagre picnic then turned back. We heard thunder on the way back, so hurried along to avoid possible rain. Thankfully there were only a few spots of rain, then it blew over. PHEW!
