We have ordered rib of beef for Christmas this year. The butcher Is preparing our meat by removing the bones, then he will tie them on again - for flavour. This choice pleases some of our family, but not everyone, so we've bought a small turkey crown, for the younger element, and at least one traditionalist!
Such a gorgeous rib of beef ! I love all meats but a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas - Goose is too big for just the two of us - Duck is only a big carcass with little meat ! So these days its a turkey crown in spite of the fact I love the red meat of the legs .What makes my Christmas dinner is all the side dishes- cranberry , bread , sauces all home-made in advanced !
Good to see a real butcher in a real butcher's shop. People still believe you get quality from them rather than what is offered in a supermarket! Yorkshire pudding to accompany?
A proper butcher Judith! Love the cap!! You can’t change a working man & his work clothes! We always have Turkey but I would like beef for a change but I’m outvoted! I have a feeling I head Cathy say she had ordered beef but it might not be for Christmas Day.
I’ve ordered a Turkey roll from our village butchers but she’s a lady butcher! I’m with @beryl with the legs but forego the pleasure for the sake of the carver….son in law likes the roll.
