Bellows camera

This was one of the items for photographing at our indoor U3A session this morning. Bellows, or folding cameras were a technological breakthrough in the 1800's. They were designed to be small enough to carry around, and were used for photography for over a century
How much technology has changed. From using glass plates for negatives to tiny memory cards.

What a beautiful piece of art - not just a "lump" of plastic like todays ! but then todays cameras are much more user friendly !

It’s a beautiful looking camera! I’m sure it probably didn’t feel very portable, but if that’s all you know…
