@jgpittenger The is a formula somewhere that is based off the focal length and gives you the time for getting only star points rather than the line you get if you open the shutter for hours. I think it was like 50mm you have 30 seconds before streaks, the longer the shorter the time. There is a program named StartTrails the merge images to the rings, plus a couple other options.
