So two years ago, it was decided that we needed so organic material to enhance our planting beds. So off to Craigslist to see what I could find, and find I did. FOR FREE, fresh horse pooh, come and get it.
So with trap large enough to line the bed of our pickup truck, off to the barn I went. A-shoveling I went. Filled that volume to the top of the sides, crowned that sucker the best I could. Couldn't pass on that price.
Once home, I unloaded this treasure into its own little bunker. Didn't make a very big dent in the pile when I treated the garden area. Next year we'll use the rest of it.
Sad to say, life intervened last year and outdoor chores didn't happen.
But this year, aha, prepare the potato box, were going to get a crop of home grown. But, wait, look at all the grass/weeds that need to be removed....cleaning filled a wheelbarrow full roots, rocks and soil. The tide went out on that bed, where to replenish the missing volume? The Pooh Pile...all you have to do is dig underneath the weeds and seeds from the horse pooh.
