the Cabin we rented for 3 days, near Mt Hood, Oregon, was located in Mt Hood National Forest. This was our view to the left of our cabin. There was a creek running behind it, that had the most peaceful, relaxing sound, ever!
It was so tucked back in the woods, and secluded the moss covered trees made us feel like we were in the middle of a fairy tale, or enchanted forest.
I highly recomend VRBO ( vacation rentals by owner). com if anyone is looking for a place to stay (anywhere ) that is not just an average hotel.
We've always had great experiences.
@mbrutus Thanks. It was definately a great place to hike. Temps were 95 to over 100 the week we were there. But, it didn't feel too hot in the dense forest, covered by trees. I felt so at peace there.
Does your nephew work at Timberline Lodge? ( Famous for the movie the Shining?) We hiked near there, and peeked inside the hotel.
Then we went back and had to watch the movie with our Oldest daughter, she'd never seen it before.
thanks everyone for the great comments. It was really magical place
