Almost didn't spot this heron because it was hiding in the tall grass. Then he came out and posed for a picture, before he flew off. They look really akward flying, with their gangly legs hanging down.
well spotted Heather lovely shot, I agree they do look strange when setting of in flight...saw two the over day but I was on them before I realised they was there, to late for a shot....fav from me :)
I have not yet been able to get them in flight

They sure do blend in with their surroundings
