Smokies by calm

Smokies

Spent a little time house hunting with my sister today near the Smoky Mountains, where we grew up.
The soft mountains, in layers, are iconic. Such a beautiful area!

That is such a beautiful area. I have wonderful memories of vacations I have had in that area. I loved the Blue Ridge Parkway drive we did. Got on the Parkway in Cherokee and exited at the north end where we found a wonderful little coffee shop, The Daily Grind, in Front Royal.

@k1w1 I feel so blessed to have grown up here, before all the tourism took over... hard to see the mountains over hotels and billboards and electrical lines. We have driven portions of the Blue Ridge Parkway and it is incredible... up there once in the fog... but we've never driven it end to end... would love to that!

@calm If you get a chance do it. Was amazing. The early morning mist, the breath taking views and the fog driving through the Shenandoah National Park. We are going to do portions of it again in the next couple of years. We can go end to end as our truck and 5th wheel are just too big for parts of it.

@k1w1 I have wanted to do the portion in the Shenandoah National Park... my sister in law lives near there and we could visit her. We have been on the Parkway near Asheville and Boone, NC.
