Rope Neck by carole_sandford

Rope Neck

This seal is quite famous & has a huge fb following! She arrived on the beach in 2000, with a load of rope & plastic caught round her neck . People managed to get the rope from around her neck & she is since scarred, but apart from one year, she has returned every year! Very topical at the moment with all the rubbish in out seas!
Gosh you got close to her

The amount of plastic and glass amongst the seals was very shocking - even more so when the volunteer said that before the first seal came ashore, volunteers walked the area and removed plastic and glass waste and said that most of what you could see had been thrown there, over the fence, by people coming to see the seals. I despair.

Bless her heart. I’m glad she comes back every year. I see the neck scar.

She's lucky to have survived that ordeal. I wonder what her expected life span is.

Such a sweet capture...looks like she is smiling. There is way too much rubbish in our oceans...terrible harm it does.

I happen to have watched a documentary last night and she was shown being freed in it! I thought, wow what a coincidence that I saw her here, then an hour later ... love it.
