Achieving the Impossible

Blackbirds are generally ground feeders & so technically shouldn’t be able to do this! It cannot perch on the metal bars like the other birds. So, this one kept flying up from the ground, grabbing a beak full of fat & going back to the ground! I had a couple of empty frames, but also had this one!
Wow, where there’s a will there’s a way!

They and the Starlings go for the fat balls & slabs. They are nowhere near as dextrous as the finches & tits, but they can get rid of 7 fat-balls in around an hour.

I've seen them do this, and it all happens very quickly. Well done in capturing the fella in the act.
