Goldfinch. by carole_sandford

Goldfinch.

We don’t see too many of these. I always think that they look annoyed when photographed straight on, this one doesn’t look too bad.
Your Goldfinches certainly are different than the Goldfinches in the US.

@skipt07 I just had to look that up & you’re right, they are different! Your robins are different too.

@carole_sandford - Yes they are. Actually what they call robins in the US are not robins, they are thrushes. Do you want to trade?

@skipt07 errr no, I may be biased, but I think our robins are prettier 😊

Fabulous capture. I’ve noticed they seem to be returning to the feeders this last week or so.

He is gorgeous. Takes me back to when we first got married. We had just been posted to Scampton. We bought a pocket bird book to identify the birds in our garden and one of the first birds we saw was a goldfinch. When we looked it up it said they live in weedy waste places. Not a very good way to describe our garden was it. ha .ha
