High Bridge & Glory Hole

Work & then an Optician appointment didn't leave me much chance of a picture today, so, whilst in town it had to be the phone!
This is High Bridge, in the centre of Lincoln. It is the oldest bridge in the U.K. Which still has buildings on it. The bridge was built about 1160, the current timber framed shops around 1550.
The narrow crooked arch underneath is known locally as the " Glory Hole" & is rumoured to have criminal connections!
It is am amazing view, that ancient building straddling the water right next to modern buildings (coffee in Stokes is also pretty good)
