@claudiet I agree, but then they were related to royalty so quite "well to do" @casablanca a turbulent time& apparently her father was beheaded a year after her! According to google the family moved out around 1739 & built a new hall some two miles away, but that no longer exists. May be they had to down size after falling out of favour?

I have never been lucky enough to be there on such occasions. The chapel is still completely in tact, not bad for 400 or more years, & most of that time in amongst a ruined house .
