There is a lane at the end of our village, that leads to what is not even big enough to be called a hamlet, but it has provided me with numerous photographic opportunities & today was no exception. Am always surprised to see apple trees in amongst other trees & hedgerows, I always wonder how they got there!
There is a saying that an apple never falls far from the tree & this was the case with most of the fruit of this tree, as it lays rotting around the base. There were however, a few still on the branches, hence today's photo.
They also reminded me of the childrens game "Bobbing for apples", which is associated with Halloween, which of course is tomorrow.
Many thanks for all your great comments- thoughts of Snow White went through my head too, but I don’t think there was really anything sinister.
