The Carillon Tower. by carole_sandford

The Carillon Tower.

This is a building synonymous with Loughborough, my home town. It was built after WW1 to commemorate the men of he town that gave their lives. Construction was completed in 1923 & the tower stands in Queens Park. The gates close at dusk, so this was taken through the railings. It has an “ everlasting light” at the top, but otherwise it was quite dark, so quite pleased with how this came out.
Thank you for your continued comments & favs.
I like your 'ghostly' trees

I didn’t know it was built as a memorial to the dead from the war. Every day is a school day

A lovely capture Carole. We have a Carillon at Bournville, the music from it sounds beautiful, it has even been on Television.
