Nurses Buckle by carole_sandford

Nurses Buckle

This is my belt buckle, which I got when I qualified, like many nurses before me. It is such a shame that with today’s modern uniforms, no one wears these now. Mine sits in a drawer year after year.
It is a shame Carole. They showed status and gave confidence.

Awww well it’s lovely. Maybe in a shadow box frame with your diploma in the background?

They are lovely .. Reminds me of the necklace that my daughter got for me last year that her jeweler friend made for me .. I was out of a button off her Grandmothers coat... a flower like this and she had added a little pink pearl to the centre of the flower..

p.s. just see that its too big for a bracelet so be too big for a necklace .. like @louannwarren idea..

You have got to think of some way to show this off. I, too, like Lou Ann's idea.

Lovely photograph. It is a shame that you no longer wear a uniform where you can show off the buckle.

Lovely keepsake. I was a Customs Officer for many years and the uniform cap had a beautiful gold-woven badge and I always feel sorry that through neglicence i have never seen it again. Today's officers have a very simple and inexpensive badge which is humiliating for their position.

A lovely buckle and a shame the old traditions have died out.... along with real nursing.

What a beautiful moment of your achievements. My good friend also got one and I remember her wearing it. It was always a symbol of pride and dedication.
