Last Monday night,Rosie,Danny and I decided to get up a 3.00am on Tuesday morning to watch the meteor showers and get photos of the sunrise.Whilst driving up a very dark,narrow road(looking for a place to stop to watch the meteors),we spotted this Little Owl in the middle of the road.Great photo opportunity!! we stopped,got out..the owl was sound asleep,so we took some shots,and Danny picked him,and he awoke,so got some more shots.Alerted by the flash of our cameras,a voice rang out,"Don't move,army property!!" OOOPS!! We hadn't seen the coils of razor wire at the side of the road.Rosie spoke to the guards and showed them the photos we'd taken.They had to get the Chief out of bed,and after showing him the shots,and dropping a few names,she convinced him we were just crazy people out taking pics in the night!He said it was a nice hobby,and after 40 minutes we were allowed to go on our way.RELIEF!!Many thanks for allyour views,comments and Favs,always much appreciated.My camera was set on UK time.
What we have to go through for our 365 shots - but you got a great story out of it ( and I bet the guards did too ;-) ) and a fab close up shot of the owl!
Traipsing on army property in the middle of the night and taking pictures...well you were lucky they didn't confiscated your camera.
