Will They Survive? by carolmw

Will They Survive?

Behind my photos today, lies a sad tale. This year an otter has found it's way into the lake via an underground tunnel. The Pen had 7 cygnets, yesterday there were 3,today just two.
All the goslings have disappeared,too.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs, always much appreciated.
Awww! They are so sweet, I wonder if the parents will move to a new lake now that the otter is here?

@louannwarren .There is a smaller lake in the park, where another swan is already nesting.Just hope the otter doesn't get there.

Oh I do hope so - the gulls on the lake here are the main culprits

I know how you feel. We have a pair of swans that always nest on the canal in our village. Last year the nest was destroyed and this year she is sitting on her second nest they built as the first was beginning to sink in the water.we are all fingers crossed they are successful this year
