Conker Time by carolmw

Conker Time

Soon, children will be plucking these heads from the horse chestnut trees, and playing conkers with the nuts from inside.
So interesting looking. (Again, I am grateful for google, because I was not familiar with "conkers".) Another reason I love 365--I learn so much ; )

Ah! Love conkers. Such fun when young. The kids here don't seem to play with them much. I had three huge conker trees at the front of my house as a youngster and we went mad with them in Autumn. Great memories. Thanks for freeing some fun times from my past. Nice shot.

Lovely shot of conkers. My lunchtime walk takes me past a few trees, but they don't seem to have as many as that

Lovely detail. This reminds me of a poem - something about about spiky green sea-mines.

Nice one. Do a lot of children play conkers in your area? I haven't seen conkers being played in years.

@dulciknit .I haven't seen many children playing conkers, either, but the village of Ashton near Oundle, holds the World Conker Championships every year, although it's been cancelled this year, according to the internet
