Taken from Salcey Forest,a distance of about 6miles(as the crow flies).
Northampton Lift Tower(Known locally as Northampton Lighthouse)was officially opened by H.M Queen Elizabeth In November 1982.It is 127m(418ft) high and is the only one in the UK,and only one of two in Europe.Built by the Express Lift Co.,it is now privately owned,and is used as a research,development and lift testing facility.It has 6 lift shafts of varying heights and speeds.
It,now,has Grade II listed building status.
Abseiling has been going on since May 2011,with over £140,000.00 being raised for charity,up to May 2012.Best viewed large if you have time.

Great view and capture! That's intriguing - I sometimes wonder when I get in a lift about how they test them!

The lighthouse is certainly the first thing that catches my eye, but I love the sunlight on all those rooftops!
