@peadar ah ah! Not many people carve the pumpkin here, in fact. But I have organized a party for the residents (registrars you would say) and my colleagues on the 31 of October, so I decided to decorate the place in style
Very nicely done. Just like a doctor to leave her surgical implements in the picture. But I hope you didn't operate without anesthesia. My daughter had carved her pumpkins last weekend. When we arrived home, they were two sinking lumps on the front steps. Several days 100 degree weather will do that to carved pumpkins. Don't know what she was thinking. I like your photo, btw. Very atmospheric. I like the lighting too, dark background yet a top light lighting the outside of the jack-o-lantern and the tools just enough. Very tasteful. I see another new career for you in pumpkin portraiture. It must be nice to be so talented and have so many option before you.
@mbrutus I don't know about a new career in pumpkin carving but I'm glad you suggested it. I have now carved four but the first one, from 5 days ago, met the fate of your daughter's one. Wrinkling and developing molds inside. It's now in a bath of water and chlorine for an extreme attempt at resuscitation in any case thank you for your nice comments, much appreciated
@caterina You'll have to let me know if you resuscitation techniquie works out. Here the pumpkins also practically melt, sometimes leaving stains on the stone walkway step. I once worked on a live TV show and for the Halloween themed show, they had a professional pumpkin carver come in to carve the pumpkins for the show's set. HIs parents are probably laughing because he use to do that for them for free.
