@paul10@stefanotrezzi You are right, he looks clearly unusual in his way of dressing. Also a straw hat at this time of the year is not what you would expect. Also as @samae noted, despite the colourful clothes he's not smiling at all. Thank you for commenting. I really appreciate it
Lol - not the happiest face in the world - but he must have been a nice chap to allow you to take his photo. I guess it is difficult for someone who is not used to posing to suddenly find a suitable expression? :)
I admire your gumption to ask strangers to photograph them. I am always wary of photographing people; it feels invasive, so I appreciate any suggestions.
@morrij10 Hi Jennifer! It’s not that difficult really. In general people are very happy to be chosen for a portrait. I can remember only one refusal…and I was expecting it because the guy was really hugly. I shouldn’t have asked. All the others have always agreed, usually I explain that I need to take 100 portraits of strangers for something like a treasure hunt. I offer to send the portrait by email, some people accept some just don’t care. A final advice, I tend to choose people who are somehow “visible”: long beard, very colorful clothes, strange hairdos. They usually like to be noticed and photographed. So go out and hunt! Let me know…
