He was painting the entrance of a building: I thought that the contrast between the roses and his slightly rough appearance could be fun. He accepted gladly to pose, as long as the picture will not be shown to his wife! ;-)
Your approach to these stranger portraits is truly inspiring and the results just as much so. I hope your recipients get to see the portraits you are creating. I too, bet he would be happy to show his wife!
@helenhall they rarely accept my offer to send the photo by mail. Sometimes, if I know where to find them, I print the photo and give it to them. Today I’ll do it with the optometrist, but the painter has certainly left his work, almost finished. A young barber that I photographed a few months ago has exposed the photo on a wall of his shop
