the remains of the oleander by caterina

the remains of the oleander

Back to the city after several weeks in the mountains. Most plants have died, including the usually resilient oleander. No need to say that five minutes after I took this picture the sky poured down all the water that would have been so useful in the past months
Great capture of the windblown oleander and dramatic clouds. Fav!! 😀

You can certainly see the rain coming in your picture.

There's something dramatically balanced about the dead plant and the dark clouds. I wonder -- are the roots also dead?

@jyokota I don't know Junko. All the leaves are brown. We'll see if with tender loving care it will come back to life

@caterina I am terrible tending to plants and I haven't had any indoor plants or even outdoor ones I have to tend to in decades, almost never. The only ones I have depended on backyard rain or the underground sprinkler system. But @domenicododaro 's wife has started me with the idea of gardening so let's see how that goes. Maybe I can learn to impart tender loving care towards plants after all. Good luck with yours! (I hope that gigantic plant inside your house is ok??)

@jyokota Yes, Junko! It has lost lots of leaves, but it's surviving

@caterina -- oh, phew -- it would have changed the character of your living room altogether if it were gone!
