The Museum of the Castle has reopened. We went to visit it, once more, just to present our respects to this beautiful institution full of masterpieces. From upstairs, near the towers, the view over the bridge crossing river Adige is always pleasant
@peadar yes Pad, we have been in the city for a while, because of the dozens of things to do here (taxes among others) and, thanks to the plummeting of infections, we have been able to have dinner with a couple (literally:two) of friends, see our son, and return to one of the museums where they have exposed a portrait of a 23 year-old Mozart when he came to play in Verona. The portrait was bought at Christie’s by an anonymous Chinese who lent it to the city for a few months
@momamo@peadar@lyndamcg@catcarter19@eudora@dide@bkbinthecity thanks to all of you. I was so happy to be able to climb the old stairs again! The castle was built in the XIV Century by the Scala family. The bridge was then bombed by the Germans fleeing the city at the end of WW2. A few years later the stones were recuperated from the river and the bridge rebuilt to its original beauty, thanks to photographs taken before the war and to old paintings
