I heard that also 365 has a project "100 portraits of a stranger". I'd love to participate and I try with this stranger that I stopped in front of the city library asking if I could take his picture for this project. I explained that I was really impressed with his hair. He was a little uncertain at first, but I think that after all he liked the idea and therefore agreed. However he declined my offer to send him the picture. Unfortunately I forgot to ask his name. So this will be my #1 nameless stranger!
@suzanne234 Thank you Suzanne. I'm very excited by this project, although I'm not sure I will be able to resist for the entire 100 portraits.Has @bailey started this ?
This is a terrific shot! The 100 Strangers project was something I did off my own bat as I thought it would stretch me. It has! I think it's also doing me good. A lady called Hazel here has done something similar. Hope this helps:)
@fbailey@suzanne234@quietpurplehaze what do you think could this become an official 365 project? Or would Flickr get upset. I don't know anything about organisation
@caterina I see you've been in touch with Phil Howcroft and he should be able to advise. Flickr state that it's not a race to collect 100 stranger pics and to submit elsewhere if that is your aim. Both Hazel and Phil seem to have spent quite a time chatting to their strangers and finding out about them but that's not something I personally want to get involved in. Hope this helps!
@caterina I really know nothing about these things but as far as I'm aware flickr is just another photo hosting site, I see no reason why they would be upset. I would happily tag my new project in if you started an official one, but then again perhaps it wouldn't be feasible with the amount of time it could take to finish.
I deliberately called my project Haze’s strangers to differentiate it from 100 strangers on Flickr. I was not a member of Flickr when I started my strangers’ project and I do not follow their rules entirely. I’m now a Flickr member and I post my strangers’ portraits in a group there called The Human Family. The story which accompanies each of my portraits is an integral part for me. All this is just what I do and not a recommendation for anyone else! I am sure Phil has given helpful advice. He got me started. @phil_howcroft
nice one caterina , welcome to the world of photographing strangers . Haze and myself are seasoned campaigners @quietpurplehaze on the genre, Haze saw my project and was inspired to start one too. You meet some great strangers and get some great stories. It can become a bit addictive too, but very enjoyable.
I'd recommend you run your project both here and on flickr as you will get lots of support on the flickr 100 strangers group. https://www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/
You need to register on flickr to join. You used to be able to logon with a google id, but flickr now insist on a yahoo user id. It's just like having an id on here. I have my yahoo id but all I use it for is logging onto flickr.
I am sure both Haze and myself will offer you encouragement and lead you along the the way, it's really nice when you have a buddy or two supporting you.
I look forward to seeing your pictures. I'm going to an event tomorrow so should be able to get a couple of strangers to add to my collection. Good luck :)
@phil_howcroft thank you very much for your detailed explanation. I will get a Yahoo I’d to access Flickr, although they seem to me too invasive of the strangers’ privacy. I will count on yours and Hazel’ support. Now @fbailey and @suzanne234 are also involved. Looking forward to your new strangers.
Great stranger shot and my what a head of hair- flashback to the 60's!! Well done on the stanger's project too- not my cup of tea but I love reading the stories of those who do it.
@ivan thank you Ivan for the encouragement. I have just started this project and already doubt if I’ll be able to go on with it. I need the help of you people
What a wonderful photo for your first stranger. It's so nice that he agreed to pose for you - it would have been a bit unfortunate if your first stranger had said no. Congratulations on the start of your 100 stranger project!! Cheers Rob
What a portrait to being your project! His hair really does frame his face so interestingly, and he knows how to pick his sunglasses to work within the hair-framing. I always think of Hazel @quietpurplehaze when I think of photographing strangers.

Good luck with the project
Thank you Junko, such a nice comment.
