A First Attempt. by cdcook48

A First Attempt.

Inspired by all the wonderful shots of insects here on 365 I decided to give it a go myself. I’m the first to admit this isn’t great. I shot his butt instead of his head. In my defence he was moving very fast and this was my first attempt at shooting a macro of a live insect. I was pleased with the focus, which I did manually, and also the exposure. I was shooting in manual with a diffused camera mounted flash. Next time I will concentrate on shooting the right end of the bug.
What a macro, I love it!

Good luck, in my experience they always seem to be moving away from me. Still, this is a nice shot with lots of detail in the stem and the insect.

The details and lighting are so well done that I didn’t even think of it being backwards. Beautiful shot!
