Brittania Beach Mining Museum

This photo shows a small section of a large building that is now a museum but was, during much of the 20th century, one of the largest mining operations in Canada. The huge 20 story building, built up the side of a mountain, was a gravity fed concentrator for copper ore processing. Originally I intended to present this photo as a black and white with stark shadows and sharp angles but it looked like what it essentially is, a building with completely restored new siding. Playing around with textures and blend modes in photoshop I stumbled upon this look that has made the brand new siding look rusty and old, more in keeping with the way it looked in its operational days. The deep rich colour reminds me of Kodak Ektachrome slide film back in the day so I added the film frame in Nik.
I love the lines and angles of the building--I find old industrial buildings fascinating. Your processing is great!

The geometric shapes in this and the light is what makes the photo interesting to see.
